Terms & Refund Policy

Last updated: {{EFFECTIVE_DATE}}

These Terms govern your use of LekhaBook, a service provided by {{LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME}} ("we", "us"). By using LekhaBook over WhatsApp or our website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What LekhaBook Is

LekhaBook is a bookkeeping tool for shopkeepers and small businesses. It records the entries you send — by voice, text or image — into a ledger and reports running balances. It performs this specific task; it is not a general-purpose chatbot or a financial-advice service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and use LekhaBook for a lawful business purpose. By using it you confirm you meet these requirements.

3. Your Account & WhatsApp Messages

Your account is tied to your WhatsApp number. By messaging LekhaBook you opt in to receive service messages (confirmations, balances and, if enabled, payment reminders) on WhatsApp. You can stop these at any time by messaging us or asking us to close your account.

4. Acceptable Use

5. Accuracy & Your Responsibility

LekhaBook uses automated speech-recognition and AI to interpret what you send. It can make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing your entries and balances. LekhaBook is a record-keeping aid and is not a substitute for a qualified accountant, Chartered Accountant, or professional tax/GST advice. Always verify figures before relying on them for tax filings, loans, or any financial or legal decision.

6. Plans & Billing

LekhaBook offers a Free plan (up to 20 customer ledgers) and a Premium plan. Premium is billed at ₹{{PRICE_MONTHLY}} per month or ₹{{PRICE_ANNUAL}} per year, inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed by Razorpay. Premium renews automatically each billing period until you cancel.

7. Refund & Cancellation Policy

8. Data & Privacy

Your use of LekhaBook is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we protect it.

9. Intellectual Property

The LekhaBook name, software, and content are owned by {{LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME}}. Your ledger data remains yours — these Terms do not transfer ownership of your data to us.

10. Service "As Is" & Availability

We work to keep LekhaBook reliable, but it is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The service depends on third parties (including WhatsApp) and may be interrupted, changed or discontinued. We are not liable for outages outside our reasonable control.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for LekhaBook in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including business losses arising from reliance on automated entries.

12. Termination

You may stop using LekhaBook at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms or that we reasonably believe is being misused. On closure, you may request an export of your data first (see Privacy Policy).

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here and the "Last updated" date revised. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
